Vivek Bairy is a seasoned Lead Infrastructure Engineer with over a decade of experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures. His extensive expertise is underpinned by a robust educational background, numerous industry certifications, and a proven track record with major financial institutions and technology companies. Vivek holds a Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems with a focus on Networking from New England College, NH, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Osmania University, India. His commitment to professional development is evidenced by an impressive array of certifications, including CCNP Enterprise, Cisco Certified Specialist in Enterprise Core and Wireless, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, Aviatrix Multi-Cloud Network Associate, and Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer, among others. viii In his current role as Vice President and Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase & Co., Vivek plays a crucial role in supporting the integration of First Republic Bank’s core banking applications. His responsibilities include overseeing the upgrade of Cisco switches and routers to mitigate vulnerabilities, deploying advanced security solutions like Cisco ISE 3.2 and Cisco AnyConnect VPN, and designing and implementing cloud-managed network security appliances. His work also involves configuring Cisco Fabric Leaf and Spine models, managing wireless networks with Cisco DNA-C, and maintaining robust security protocols to meet CIS benchmarks. Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase & Co., Vivek served as a Senior Network Engineer at First Republic Bank from November 2018 to July 2023. Here, he was instrumental in designing and deploying Cisco ISE solutions, managing Cisco AnyConnect VPN deployments, and integrating Meraki Cloud Managed network security appliances. His role also included overseeing the deployment of Cisco Fabric Leaf and Spine models, managing Palo Alto Firewalls, and implementing network security policies using advanced technologies such as F5 load balancers and Cisco DNA-C. Vivek’s professional journey began at SHARP InfoTech INC. as a Network Consulting Engineer, where he honed his skills in deploying Cisco ISE, configuring LAN networks, and implementing F5 Traffic Steering nodes. His responsibilities included working with Juniper routers and firewalls, managing network services, and configuring various security and routing protocols. His role involved significant troubleshooting and configuration tasks, including the migration from Cisco ASA to Palo Alto global solutions. Before that, Vivek worked at Screatives Software Services Pvt Ltd as a Network Engineer, where he focused on LAN design, troubleshooting, and maintenance. He was involved in configuring IPSEC VPNs, VLANs, and STP on Cisco ix Catalyst Switches. His role required him to manage network connectivity issues, perform virus checks, and support network expansions. Throughout his career, Vivek has demonstrated a profound ability to manage and execute complex network projects, ensuring high availability, security, and efficiency. His hands-on experience with a wide range of networking technologies and his adeptness at troubleshooting and optimizing network performance make him a valuable asset in any infrastructure team. Vivek is also skilled in technical documentation and presentation, using tools like Microsoft Visio and Office to create detailed workflows and standard policies. His expertise extends to disaster recovery planning, network security, and WAN optimization technologies such as Riverbed.
